NORTH RANCH SURVEY
SHOULD THE NRCA CONTINUE CLOSING THE NORTH POOL AT DARK (UNTIL THE AREA IS SECURE)?
Over the last 24 months illegal activity at the north pool has resulted in several arrests. The secluded surroundings make the beautiful north pool a favored spot for illegal activity.
Presently the north pool (small pool) closes when it gets dark (9:00 PM).
The south pool (big pool) still stays open until 11:00 PM.
The BOD initiated this policy a few weeks ago to help cut back on crime and bad behavior at the north pool. The policy is considered temporary. The NRCA has indicated they will change the policy when the BOD believes the area to be secure enough. Some pending security upgrades are expected to be completed soon.
There have been fewer problems at the north pool since it has been closed after dark.
At a raucous 6/24 board meeting a group of North Ranch residents demanded the BOD change the north pool hours back to the old hours (11 pm closing).
Another group of residents want to keep the current policy "as is" for safety reasons and peace and quiet. Interestingly the most passionate opinions from both sides come from residents who live near the north pool.
With better security in place, crime problems in general have decreased in the community.
The NRCA BOD values the input of ALL residents and would like to hear from as many residents as possible on this issue.
This website was created to better inform the community and provide a means for residents who cannot attend board meetings to have their voices heard.
